Enchanting view in the Curonian Spit, about 200 steps, but the view will pay off the trouble

Although most of the people who come to Neringa are drawn to Parnidis dune, many who have seen another dune – Preilas dune – are still debating where the beautiful panorama is. The height of Preila, also known as the artist’s dune, is 53.3 meters.

During the Soviet era, several artists liked to paint on the Preila dune, so the residents of Preila gave it the second name – Painters’ dune.

You can reach the observation deck of the dune by the first house on the Nida side (Preilos st. 97) by turning left. However, to get to the observation deck, you will have to climb about 200 steps. The latter were renovated for the convenience of visitors only 4 years ago. However, it is worth climbing: the panorama of the Curonian Lagoon opens from the dune: on the right – the large Preila Cape, on the right – Cape Bulvikis, the widest point of the Curonian Spit, and in the far south – Cape Grobšto, which belongs to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation.

Real beauty opens up while sailing a yacht. More about the yacht trip: https://laivu-nuoma.lt/en/trip-to-the-dead-dunes/
